Which of the Apple Music streaming services will you tune in to next?
Alternative music streaming services are gaining momentum as the streaming service warms up for a summer launch.
Apple Music, Spotify, Pandora and Tidal all have more than 10 million subscribers, but Apple Music has already surpassed its previous peak of about 30 million subscribers in September.
Apple has been expanding the app with new features, including a new Music Library with music from major artists like Rihanna, Frank Ocean and Bruno Mars.
Tidal, Apple’s streaming service, is also expanding its catalog.
Spotify is offering a $5-per-month subscription to Apple Music and $7-per month to Tidal for users who want to listen to the music in the background.
The streaming services also have a new music subscription service, iHeartRadio, that will give subscribers access to their favorite artists.
All three companies have added more streaming options as their apps have matured and expanded.
Apple Music is available for $8 a month for people who sign up with an Apple ID, or $9 a month as a pay-per access plan.
It’s available in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Australia, Brazil, New Zealand and Ireland.
Tides is $5 a month.
Spotify, which has about 70 million users, has about 60 million subscribers and has become a popular option for music fans looking for a way to listen and stream their favorite music.
Apple says it has added more than 1,500 new songs to the Music Library, with more than 7,000 songs added since the app’s launch last month.
The company has also added new music features to the TuneIn app, like a new playlist where artists will be featured on a random song.
Apple also has made streaming easier with new streaming-related features such as a playlist builder, which lets users pick a playlist from the thousands of songs in the Music library and create an album.
Tidal also is adding new streaming services in the future.
Tearaway is coming to Tides in the coming weeks, along with new services like iHeart Radio and Spotify.
It’s been awhile since Apple Music was a major player, but that could change as the company continues to add new streaming and subscription services.
Apple already has a slew of new streaming apps on its App Store, including TuneIn and iHeartradio.
