Why Apple cancelled Apple Music
Apple Music will be leaving the US for a second time next month, the company announced this morning.
Apple Music has been the only streaming music service to offer in the US since Apple acquired Beats in December.
This move comes as the company has struggled to compete with Amazon Prime Music, Spotify, Rdio and others, and it’s likely the company will start to focus more on other sources of revenue, such as licensing.
Apple Music will no longer be available in the United States and other territories, but the company says it will continue to offer free unlimited streaming of music from Apple’s Beats Music app.
The move means you’ll be able to stream music from the app and access the streaming service from anywhere.
The move comes after Beats announced that it would be closing its doors.
The company was bought by Spotify last year for $3 billion.
